Notice on Dining Safety for Athletes
Thank you very much for coming to Weihai to participate in the 2024 World Triathlon Championship Series Weihai & 2024 China·Weihai Extreme Triathlon Series.
Weihai is a world livable city and a famous tourist city. We have been building the Triathlon brand since 2008 and have already held 13 high-level events till now. In 2017, we successfully launched our own event, the IP of Weihai Extreme Triathlon Series. Among them, Weihai Extreme Triathlon Series sets every 10 years old as one group, and the first place in each group will win the award of 10,000 CNY. The race will also have a record prize. At present, the Men's Extreme Triathlon Record Award is 200,000 CNY, and the Women's Extreme Triathlon Record Award is 100,000 CNY. Nowadays, Weihai Triathlon has become a the national-level sports industry demonstration project, the“China Sports Tourism Top Ten Events”, and the top ranked triathlon event in the country. Its market evaluation has reached 400 million CNY in 2023. And the Weihai Triathlon Course once praised as "the most challenging course with the most beautiful scenes in the world" by Ms. Casado, a member of the International Olympic Committee and President of the World Triathlon.
The Weihai Triathlon has strictly enforced anti-doping requirements throughout its history. The organizing committee has been strictly controlling food and drug channels to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of athletes and ensure their safety. Up to now, the doping incidents haven’t involving athletes around the world in Weihai. To minimize the risk of athletes accidentally consuming food and beverages that may contain stimulant ingredients, the organizing committee has specially set up a dedicated restaurant and menu at Dongshan Hotel for the athletes participating in the World Triathlon Championship Series Weihai, making sure the traceability of any ingredients. Therefore, the organizing committee strongly recommends that all athletes dine at the designated location of Dongshan Hotel during the time in Weihai.
As is well known, Chinese cuisine emphasizes the diversity of flavors, and is highly favored by tourists around the world. However, many Chinese dishes may use seasonings such as lotus plumule, Chinese red peppers, peppers, yams, and fragrant leaves. These seasonings are not particularly friendly to professional athletes, and Chinese athletes are also prohibited from consuming them. Therefore, we strongly recommend that all athletes participating in the World Championships avoid dining out, ordering takeout, and using drugs without medical permission, in order to avoid exposure to substances that may have adverse effects on doping testing.
We kindly remind you that if you do not dine at the designated restaurant of the organizing committee, you dine out or order takeout on your own and so on. If you accidentally consume food that affects doping testing, the organizing committee will not be held responsible.
